Designing the set
Christine Urquhart, set design mentor for both plays shared more about her process, plans, and inspiration behind the exciting and beautiful aesthetic for the show.
"With 21st Narcissus I felt it connected to the ceiling, with a suspension of time, space and self, the mirror box for Kyle suggests the Narcissus' pond but also appears invisible thanks to it's reflective quality. The materials and finishes are very modern and youthful. The swings for the twitter girls are playful, lifting them off the ground represents social media users' identities in the vastness of the internet, the Facebook users stand exposed and awkward in their sweet exchange. When empty, the space almost feels like a performance art gallery. The projection is across the entire stage, like an interactive screen."
